Punjab Govt Appoints Ali Mustafa Dar as Advisor on Artificial Intelligence

The Government of Punjab has appointed Mr. Ali Mustafa Dar as Advisor to the Chief Minister on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, according to an official notification issued on Monday.

The notification, released by the Services & General Administration Department (Cabinet Wing), states that the appointment has been made under Article 130(11) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, read with Section 3 of the Punjab Advisors (Salary, Allowance & Privileges) Ordinance, 2002.

Mr. Dar will serve in the advisory role on a pro bono basis, with immediate effect.

Ali Mustafa Dar is the son of Senator Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Finance.

The appointment underscores the Punjab government’s emphasis on artificial intelligence, digital governance, and special technology-driven initiatives aimed at improving public sector efficiency and innovation across the province.
