Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’s Convoy Attacked in Firing Incident; Security Guard Killed, Several Injured

A convoy of former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, came under attack on Friday while he was heading towards Rawalakot. The incident occurred at the Tain Dhalkot area, resulting in the death of a security guard and injuries to several others.

According to initial reports, unknown assailants opened fire on the vehicles. Several windows of the cars in the convoy were shattered due to the shooting.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas remained safe in the attack. Rescue teams and security forces reached the site immediately after the incident. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the attack and efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
