Saudi Arabia partners with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to eradicate polio

Saudi Arabia and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have joined forces to help eradicate polio from thirty three Islamic Development Bank member countries.
According to a press release, the two parties have taken a decision to protect three hundred and seventy million children annually and lift millions more from poverty.
A fund exceeding six hundred and twenty million dollars was announced at the World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh. The pledge from Saudi Arabia will enhance the innovation and collaboration needed to eradicate this disease.
The statement said we have significant progress in Afghanistan and Pakistan, yet work remains to be done as the world pushes towards making eradication possible.
