According to multiple U.S. officials, Trump “steamrolled” Netanyahu, expressing fury over Israel’s planned escalation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, which he feared would derail ongoing diplomatic efforts with Iran.
“You’re f***ing crazy,” Trump allegedly told Netanyahu. “You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.” Sources said Trump yelled, “What the f*** are you doing?”
Trump later took to Truth Social to frame the conversation positively, announcing he had persuaded Netanyahu to turn Israeli troops around before a major raid on Beirut. He also claimed to have spoken with Hezbollah representatives, leading to a mutual ceasefire agreement.
“I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi!” Trump posted. “I also had a conversation with representatives of the leaders of Hezbollah… Let’s see how long that lasts. Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!”
