Two Dangerous ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ Terrorists Arrested from Faisalabad and Jhelum: Punjab CTD

The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested two highly dangerous terrorists affiliated with the banned “Fitna al-Khawarij” group from Faisalabad and Jhelum districts during intelligence-based operations.

According to the CTD spokesperson, the arrests were part of a broader crackdown across Punjab that saw 366 intelligence-based operations conducted in recent weeks, resulting in the detention of 36 terrorists in total. The operations targeted multiple districts including Lahore, Kasur, Jhelum, Chakwal, Okara, Khanewal, Rawalpindi, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Rajanpur, Sialkot, Jhang, and Attock.

Explosive materials, including IEDs, detonators, safety fuses, wires, pamphlets, and cash, were recovered from the suspects. The CTD stated that the arrests helped foil potential terror plots in the province.

The latest operation underscores the CTD’s ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and prevent attacks through proactive intelligence-driven actions. Further investigations are underway.
