Woman Admitted for Broken Leg Dies After Alleged Unauthorised Heart Stent Procedure in Haryana Hospital

Here is india: A 42-year-old woman, who was admitted to a private hospital in Haryana’s Panipat for treatment of a fractured leg, allegedly underwent an unauthorised angioplasty and heart stent procedure before she died, prompting a police investigation.

The deceased, identified as Guddi Devi, a resident of Kanpur, suffered a leg fracture in a motorcycle accident on July 24. Her family admitted her to Park Hospital on GT Road for orthopaedic treatment.

According to her son, Kuldeep, the family was informed the following day that doctors had performed an angioplasty and inserted a stent in her heart.

The family has alleged that the cardiac procedure was carried out without their knowledge or consent and claimed that signatures on the consent form were forged. They further stated that Guddi Devi had no prior history of heart disease and alleged that the unnecessary procedure led to her death.

Police have registered a case against the hospital’s doctors and launched an investigation into the incident.
