President Zelensky expresses disappointment with the West
KYIV (The Washington Post): Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine has reportedly criticized Western states for their “handling” of Russia’s military buildup.
According to international media reports, President Zelensky of Ukraine has disapproved of the way Western countries are handling the Russia-Ukraine conflict with regards to the military buildup by Russia at Ukraine’s border. According to Zelensky, the leaders of the West are waiting to impose further, more damaging, sanctions on Russia while insisting that is “not thy way to do it”.
During his tirade against the United States (US), Britain, and Australia, Zelensky insisted that the Western leaders are stirring up “panic” in the region. The Ukrainian leader reportedly took a dig at the United States during a press conference by saying, “I can’t be like other politicians who are grateful to the United States just for being the United States”. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed frustration with US President Biden’s remarks that an incursion is highly likely.

According to a report by The Washington Post, the Ukrainian leader stated that “we’re grateful” to the US for its “constant support” over the matter of “sovereignty and territorial integrity” however, no one knows the situation better than him as he is the President. According to reports, the US is actively engaged in promoting the image of a united West all as Russia continues to deploy approximately 100,000 of its troops along the border while denying any intention to attack.
It is pertinent to note that the Pentagon has predicted catastrophic consequences in the likelihood of a war between Russia and Ukraine. General Mark A. Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon, has stated, “Given the type of forces that are arrayed… if that was unleashed on Ukraine, it would be significant. Very significant”. Meanwhile, the US military has issued a “prepare to deploy” order for nearly 8,500 personnel. However, as per the latest reports, the US personnel are yet to be deployed even though efforts to reach a peaceful resolution in the conflict seem to be faltering.
