The federal government decided to approve a major reduction in the price of the drug after a summary was sent to the cabinet by the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) in September.

In Islamabad Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has suggested a 38 percent cut in the price of 100 mg Remdesivir injection. The DRAP policy board on November 9, said the authority had decreased its price to Rs. 9,244 from Rs. 10,873 in August.

Now, however, the price of the injection fell from $50 to $35 in the international market but Earlier in June, the cabinet had fixed the price at Rs10,873.
