Russian Ambassador Rolls Up Sleeves for Cleanliness Drive at Embassy in Delhi

In a symbolic gesture of solidarity with India’s cleanliness mission, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov rolled up his sleeves on Sunday morning and participated in a volunteer cleanup drive around the Russian Embassy premises in the capital.
Accompanied by embassy staff and volunteers, Alipov was seen picking up litter and tidying the surroundings as part of India’s flagship Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Russia’s parallel “We Stand for Cleanliness” / Green Initiative.
Speaking during the activity, the Ambassador highlighted the universal message behind the effort. “There is a message for the unity of all, of society. Whether in Russia or in India, we stand for cleanliness. We dedicate this work to the Indian movement. And we are very happy to contribute,” he said.
The initiative underscores the strong people-to-people ties between the two nations and reflects a shared commitment to civic responsibility and environmental consciousness. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, continues to inspire participation from citizens, organizations, and diplomatic missions alike.
