Second India-Arab League Foreign Ministers’ Conference in New Delhi, 30–31 January 2026

The second Foreign Ministers’ Conference between India and the Arab League will be held in the capital New Delhi on 30 and 31 January 2026. According to Indian media, foreign ministers or their representatives from 20 to 22 member countries of the Arab League are expected to participate. Confirmations for attendance have been received so far from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, and Tunisia.

Sources in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs state that Syria’s participation is particularly important, as it will mark the first foreign minister-level dialogue between Damascus and New Delhi following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime. Syria’s Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani will attend. Somalia’s participation remains unconfirmed as of now.

From the Indian side, the conference will be chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, while the Arab League will be represented by its Secretary General.

The key objectives of the meeting include promoting cooperation between India and Arab League countries in the fields of trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, health, technology, tourism, and security. Discussions will also cover regional stability, the Gaza peace plan, and other shared issues.

According to Indian media, this meeting is part of India’s strategy for sustained engagement with the Middle East and North Africa regions.
