Security Tightened at BJP Headquarters in New Delhi Amid Terror Threat Alert

India: Security has been significantly strengthened at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in India’s capital, New Delhi, following intelligence warnings about a possible terrorist attack.

Acting on threat alerts received from intelligence agencies, authorities have installed multi-layered barricades around the party’s central office, intensified vehicle checks, and deployed a large number of personnel from the Delhi Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other paramilitary units.

A heavy security presence has been observed along the outer perimeter of the headquarters, with police officers and camouflage-clad security personnel conducting continuous patrols. Normal public activity in the surrounding area, however, has largely continued.

The heightened measures come amid broader security concerns in the Indian capital. In May 2026, intelligence inputs reportedly warned of potential improvised explosive device (IED), vehicle-borne IED (VBIED), and other terrorist threats targeting BJP offices and government buildings across Delhi, prompting citywide security alerts.

Authorities have not disclosed specific details regarding the latest threat assessment, but security agencies remain on high alert as a precautionary measure.
