Sindh Government Orders Probe After Deadly Protest Violence

The Government of Sindh strongly condemned the violent incidents that erupted during protests in various parts of the province, resulting in the loss of lives and damage to public and private property.

In an official statement, the provincial government said the demonstrations were initially organized against a recent decision, but certain elements allegedly incited violence, leading to clashes and the deaths of six individuals. Authorities described the loss of innocent lives as “deeply tragic.”

The government announced the formation of an independent inquiry committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unrest and determine responsibility. Officials said those found involved in inciting or carrying out violence would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

Reaffirming its stance, the Sindh government said it respects citizens’ democratic right to peaceful protest but warned that taking the law into one’s own hands would not be tolerated.

An FIR has been registered, and further legal action will proceed based on the findings of the investigation, the statement added.

Authorities urged citizens to remain calm and avoid agitation, assuring that law and order remain under control and that the law will take its course in all circumstances.
