Taliban regime responsible for tensions with Pakistan: Afghan political leadership

In Afghanistan, the political leadership of the country has held the Taliban regime responsible for the tensions with Pakistan and voices have started surfacing within Afghanistan against the Taliban regime’s aggressive steps and its backing of terrorist groups.

According to an Afghan TV channel, Afghanistan International, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, Ahmad Massoud has said Pakistan’s recent airstrikes are the result of the Taliban regime’s irresponsible policies and its support for terrorist groups.

He said the Taliban regime has not only lost credibility at the international level, but is also facing strong criticism and resistance within the country.

Ahmad Massoud said the Taliban created such situation by providing shelter to Al-Qaeda, Fitna al-Khwarij, Jaish al-Adl, and other militant organizations.

He said the Taliban regime has lost its legitimacy both domestically and internationally and has kept the Afghan people out of the political system.

Another Afghan political leader Mohammad Mohaqiq has asked people not lose hope and be ready for a major change in the country.

Referring to atrocities against the Hazara people in Afghanistan, Mohammad Mohaqiq said the targeting of people on ethnic grounds must stop.

According to experts, the statements by Ahmad Massoud and Mohammad Mohaqiq reflect that a significant political and public opinion is emerging against the Taliban regime within Afghanistan.
