UK police charge three including father over Sarah Sharif’s murder
British police announced on Friday that they have pressed charges against three individuals, including the father, in connection with the murder of 10-year-old Sara Sharif, who was tragically found dead at her residence last month.
Sara Sharif was discovered with severe injuries at her home in Woking, a town located southwest of London, on August 10. Her father, Urfan Sharif, aged 41, his partner Beinash Batool, aged 29, and her uncle Faisal Malik, aged 28, had all departed for Pakistan the day before.
Upon their return to the United Kingdom on Wednesday, they were apprehended at London’s Gatwick Airport following their arrival on a flight from Dubai.
Surrey Police has now formally charged all three individuals with the offenses of murder and causing or permitting the death of a child. They are scheduled to make an appearance at Guildford Magistrate’s Court later in the day.
The police statement also noted, “Sara’s mother has been informed of this latest development and is receiving support from specialized officers.”
