US Embassy Rolls Out Trump-Themed Auto-Rickshaws in Delhi for America’s 250th Independence Anniversary

India: Eye-catching auto-rickshaws wrapped with images of US President Donald Trump, American flags, and patriotic motifs are now plying the streets of Nrw Delhi as part of the US Embassy’s “Freedom 250” campaign.
The initiative, launched in mid-April by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, celebrates the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 2026. The vibrant three-wheelers feature slogans like “Happy Birthday America! 250 Years Old” alongside iconic US imagery, including the bald eagle and the national flag.
When approached, the driver declined to comment, citing privacy concerns.
The campaign blends public diplomacy with local street culture, aiming to showcase the strength of US-India ties. Ambassador Gor described the autos as the start of a national tour, with the vehicles expected to appear in other major Indian cities throughout the year. The broader “Freedom 250” program includes educational events, technology collaborations, and public engagements running through the end of 2026.
The Trump-themed rickshaws have drawn mixed reactions online, ranging from amusement at the quirky soft-power outreach to criticism viewing it as overt branding. Embassy officials say the initiative honors the enduring partnership between the world’s two largest democracies.
