Veteran Actress Naila Jaffery Passes Away Due to Cancer

Veteran Actress Naila Jaffery has passed away today in Karachi. According to reports, she had been suffering from cancer for a long time, and ended up falling victim to it.

Naila Jaffery’s brother, Atif Jaffery, has stated that her sister’s funeral prayers will be offered later today in Defense Phase II, and the burial will be held at the Army Cemetery on Kala Pul.

The actress had been ill since 2016, being initially diagnosed with ovarian cancer and later with gastric cancer.

It was reported in 2017 about, 4 years ago, that she was admitted to hospital in critical condition and was discovered to be in the third stage of cancer.

The actress was later discharged after being hospitalized for some time, but continued to receive treatment since 2016, only being admitted to hospital from time to time.

Recently, a video of Naila Jaffery went viral, in which she appealed to TV owners, playwrights and philanthropists for help, asking to be being paid royalties from her dramas and shows. She stated that she had been suffering from cancer for the past six years, but had been unable to receive the needed chemotherapy treatment due to financial constraints.

After the actress’s video went viral, people also appealed to the government to help Naila Jaffery, after which the Sindh government announced its support for her.
