Baaghi TV has learnt that former Interior Minister, Senator Rehman Malik has strongly opposed the government’s decision to import sugar from India.

According to reports, Senator Rehman Malik has announced that he will not use sugar for the next two months as a form of protest, and urged Pakistani citizens to join him. The Senator stated that in lieu of national interests, the Pakistani nation cannot stop consumption of sugar completely however, if we do not use it for two months, it will not be a matter of life and death.

The Senator added that now the country’s hard earned foreign exchange would be used to strengthen its own enemy. It is unfortunate that despite being an agricultural country, Pakistan is forced to import sugar from India, through Dubai.
