Zilhaj moon not sighted, date of Eid-ul-Azha announced
Lahore, 11th July: The crescent of the Islamic month of Zilhaj was not sighted in Pakistan on Saturday evening, hence Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on July 21.
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Sunday that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Wednesday July 21 in Pakistan after the Zilhaj moon could not be sighted yesterday evening.
Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad announced that the Zilhaj moon was not sighted, hence, the month of Zilhaj will begin from July 12 (Monday), and Eidul Azha will be celebrated on July 21.
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announces Eid ul Azha date
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had an important meeting at Met Complex in Karachi after Asar prayers on Saturday to witness the crescent of Zilhaj month. Chairman Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting.
Meetings of Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees also took place in Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar for the sighting of the Zilhaj moon.
Possibility of 9 Holidays on Eid-ul-Adha
Eearlier, the Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD) had predicted that there was no chance to sight the new moon of Zilhaj 1442 AH on the evening of July 10.
Weather department had said in a statement that the new moon of ZilHaj 1442 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 06:18 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on 10-07-2021 (Saturday).
It is to be noted that Eid-ul-Azha in Saudi Arabia and other countries will be celebrated on July 20.
