During the meeting, bilateral relations, situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and issues of mutual interest were discussed. The Foreign Minister apprised of the dire situation in Occupied Kashmir. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that India has made the lives of 8 million Kashmiris miserable. The clear stance of the Nigerian government on the Kashmir issue is commendable.

The Foreign Minister thanked the Foreign Minister of Niger for supporting the Pakistani position. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited the Nigerian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also met with his Somali counterpart, Ahmad Issa Odes. The Foreign Minister briefed the Somali Foreign Minister on Pakistan’s ‘Engage Africa’ policy. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan is pursuing the “Engage Africa” strategy and there are opportunities for cooperation in various fields including education, health and agriculture.
