Babar Azam all set to surpass Chris Gayle’s Ttwenty record

Sept 28, 2021: Pakistan captain Babar Azam is moving towards another world record, as his goal is to become the fastest batsman to score 7000 runs in T20 cricket.

According to record books, the Pakistani captain has scored 6,879 T20 runs from 184 innings so far. That means he needs 121 more runs in seven innings to break Gayle’s world record of fastest 7000 Ttwenty runs. The Left-arm West Indian pinch hitter scored 7,000 T20 runs in 192 innings.

Babar Azam has previously had the honor of scoring 3,000, 4,000 and 6,000 T20 runs.

He is also the fastest Asian to score 1,000 T20 and the fastest 2,000 T20 runs. As impressive as it may be, Babar Azam is currently ranked as the best batsman in the ICC ODI Player Rankings, with Indian captain Virat Kohli second behind him.

So far in his T20 career, Babar Azam has scored five centuries and 58 half-centuries. The Pakistani captain has recently taken on a role, forging a solid opening partnership with wicketkeeper Rizwan to help the team build a respectable collection in the T20s.

The day before, Rizwan praised Babar Azam and discussed the secret of his participation in the T20 matches.

In a tweet, Rizwan praised his partnership with Azam and said that the best thing about playing with Babar Azam is that the two “always discuss things and adapt to the changing situation during the game”.

The cricketer had said that he was incapable of this success and attributed all the successes to Allah Almighty and said that everything happens by the will of Allah Almighty.
