Bushra Bibi’s health deteriorates

LAHORE: Former Prime Minister, and PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf) Chairman Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi’s health has reportedly deteriorated.

After Bushra Bibi’s condition worsened, she is being shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Saif Awan has made the claim on the social networking website Twitter that Bushra Bibi’s health has deteriorated.

Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi lives with him in his Zaman Park residence. When Imran Khan went to Islamabad for an appearance in court, the police conducted an operation in Zaman Park. At that time, Imran Khan said that Bushra Bibi was alone at home.

Later, the Nikah was performed for a second time. Mufti Saeed Khan, a member of PTI’s core committee, and the Nikah Khawan for the couple, said that the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi was performed twice. He said that the first marriage was invalid because it took place during the period of Iddah. Bushra Bibi’s Iddah period was not complete on the occasion of her first marriage with Khan. According to Mufti Saeed Khan, on the occasion of their first nikah, he was kept unaware of this matter. Later, when he came to know about it, he declared the marriage invalid and conducted a second marriage according to Shariah.

During her time as the First Lady, Bushra Bibi rarely made public appearances. According to Imran Khan, this is because she is a housewife and prefers to remain home in order to maintain purdah [seclusion of women from public observation].
