Coronavirus: PIA modifies the conditions for the travelers

Islamabad, 20th March: Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has set conditions for those coming from abroad to take the coronavirus test first before their arrival starting from the 21st March 2020.

According to the reports of Baaghi TV, Pakistan International Airlines has declared coronavirus tests mandatory for international flights from midnight of 20th March, but there has also been some relaxation.

The PIA said that rigorous screening was underway because of the coronavirus. It was decided earlier that RT and PCR tests were mandatory for travelers coming from abroad, but later PIA has relaxed the terms and made it easier for travelers.

It has also been said that travelers coming to Pakistan will first assure that they have been to be quarantined for 14 days.

 

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan addressed a press conference in the presence of the Advisor Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan after the cabinet meeting, saying that from March 21, international flight passengers will be able to get a boarding card only if the coronavirus test is negative.

“There is no restriction on the landing of any international flight in the country, but passengers will be allowed to come out only after a number of necessary steps.” They said that important decisions were made at the National Security Council meeting on March 13.

According to the spokesman of the Aviation Division, it is mandatory that the passenger from abroad should have taken his test 24 hours before the flight. The test report must include the passenger’s name and passport number. In addition to the submission of the test report, a health declaration form must also be submitted.

All airlines have been issued clear instructions in this regard till the 4th of April.

According to the Aviation Division, it is mandatory for all passengers to be sprayed for sterilization before boarding the passengers. All airlines must submit a certificate to the Civil Aviation Authority in this regard. Otherwise, the aircraft will not be allowed to land.
