Dr. Aafia Siddiqui attacked in US jail, shocking revelations
Texas: According to the British organization Cage, female Pakistani scientist Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who has been imprisoned in the US since 2010, has been attacked in jail and been injured.
According to foreign media, a statement issued by British organization Cage stated that the lawyers of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is imprisoned in the US state of Texas, said that she was continuously beaten by a prisoner last month. She was consistently being harassed by him and then he attacked her by throwing something hot at her in a coffee mug.
The British organization, however, has not said what was thrown at Dr. Aafia Siddiqui but is clear that the thing was hot.
Cage’s statement further said that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was injured afterwards and a wheelchair was used to get her out of the cell.
In this regard, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui told lawyer Marwa Elbeli that it was only due to God she was not blinded as a result of the attack.
Lawyer Marwa Elbeli told the organization that she was shocked to see burn marks on her face during their last meeting. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui had a scar on her left eye and toothpaste on her right cheek which was covered with a small piece of paper.
The British organization has expressed serious concerns over this news, saying that it was informed of the attack on July 30 but it is unknown when the incident took place. The doctor has been being kept in solitary confinement for a period of time under administrative supervision.
It is to be noted that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui went missing from Karachi with her three children in March 2003 after the arrest of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, a key commander of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks.
