FM Qureshi: India should stop killing Kashmiris
If India is looking for peace, it should stop the atrocious acts on Kashmiris, said Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing journalists in New York.

Qureshi discussed the evolving situation in Afghanistan and answered questions from journalists, where he mentioned:
“The Afghans have faced nothing but war crisis in the last four decades. Now there is hope for peace in Afghanistan. The international community must not leave Afghans alone at this critical juncture. A peaceful Afghanistan will benefit the entire region. We have been hosting more than 3 million Afghan refugees for the past four decades, with our limited resources, without financial support from the international community. Our economy can no longer bear the burden of refugees. If the situation in Afghanistan is tense, Pakistan will be most affected. We fully supported the evacuation of citizens, diplomatic staff and media representatives from various countries in Afghanistan. To address the growing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the international community must step in and take steps to ensure the support of Afghans.”

FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi also mentioned that Pakistan, like its other neighbors, wanted a comprehensive government in Afghanistan. We believe that the reconciliation process in Afghanistan cannot be completed without the establishment of a united government. We want peace and stability in Afghanistan. The initial statements made by the Taliban leaders are encouraging. Respect for international opinion and keeping their promises is in the best interest of the Taliban.

“In my opinion, it would be better to open Afghanistan’s frozen assets for Afghans. There are many positive aspects to the current transformation in Afghanistan. The absence of bloodshed and civil war during this recent transformation is a positive thing.”
The statements made by the Taliban regarding the end of the war, the declaration of amnesty, the observance of basic human rights, and the protection of women’s rights are encouraging.
