Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet final, PM to attend swearing-in ceremony

According to Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to visit Gilgit-Baltistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday. Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Saifullah Niazi will also accompany the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet. The Prime Minister also approved the formation of the Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet.

Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet swearing-in ceremony will be held on Wednesday. According to private TV, Raja Muhammad Zakaria, Haji Shah Baig, Javed Manawa, Wazir Kaleem, Raja Azam will join the cabinet. Fatehullah, Rajanasar Abbas, Sohail Abbas, Shams Lone have also been included in the GB cabinet.
During his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with the Chief Minister and Cabinet members. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved Khalid Khurshid as Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister.

Earlier, polling for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly was held in which Amjad Ali Zaidi of PTI and Ghulam Muhammad of Opposition contested. Amjad Ali Zaidi was elected Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly with 18 votes. During the polling, 4 votes of PTI candidate Amjad Ali Zaidi were rejected while one vote of opposition candidate Ghulam Muhammad was rejected. Opposition candidate Amjad Ali Zaidi got 8 votes against 18 votes.

According to the notification issued by the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan, 2 out of 3 seats of technocrats went to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf while one seat went to PPP.
Akbar Ali and Fazal Rahim of PTI and Ghulam Shehzad of PPP have been elected technocrats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. However, out of 6 reserved seats for women, 4 were won by PTI while one reserved seat was won by PPP and one by PML-N.
According to the notification, PTI’s Kaniz Fatima, Suraya Zaman, Dilshad Bano and Kulsoom Ilyas have been elected to the four reserved seats for women, PPP’s Sadia Danish and PML-N’s Sanam Bibi have reached the reserved seats for women.
