NCOC meeting reviews closure of educational institutes | Baaghi TV

Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid attended a key meeting of the National Command And Operation Center (NCOC) at the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education, Baaghi TV reported.

The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umar. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Health Dr. Faisal Sultan attended the meeting via video link conference. The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Department of Health, Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care, Imran Sikandar Baloch, Additional Secretary, Brigadier Asad, and Ministers of Health, Education, and other concerned officers from all provinces through video link conference.

Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid briefed the meeting about the latest situation of coronavirus and vaccination in Punjab. Provincial Minister for School Education Dr. Murad Ras briefed about the details of vaccination of teachers and students of educational institutions in Punjab. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said in the meeting that eighty-five percent of children of public and private educational institutions of Punjab have been fully vaccinated, meanwhile, 100% of children in public and private educational institutions of Punjab will be vaccinated soon.

The situation of Corona in Punjab is under control. Fifty-seven percent of the population of Punjab has been fully vaccinated. More than 46 million people of Punjab have been fully vaccinated. During the first phase of the “Reach Every Door” Vaccination Campaign in Punjab, 14 million people have been vaccinated. The “Reach Every Door” Vaccination Campaign Phase II will continue till January 31st in Lahore and Faisalabad. In Punjab, as per the instructions of NCOC, Corona’s SOPs are being strictly implemented. The NCOC has further appealed to the people of Punjab to strictly implement SOPs to prevent a coronavirus spread. Due to the high intensity of the Omicron variant, the health department is taking the necessary steps to ensure that government hospitals in Punjab have ample resources for the treatment of Corona patients.

After attending the NCOC meeting, Punjab Education Minister Murad Ras said that no decision has been taken yet about the holidays. Air pollution is a major problem in Lahore. Teachers are 100% vaccinated. The children’s teaching schedule will be announced in the next 24-hours however, schools cannot be closed because children have already suffered a lot. The NCOC meeting reviewed the closure of schools at the end. According to reports, the NCOC has claimed it cannot consider closure until all other avenues have been closed. Meanwhile, children under the age of 12 have not been vaccinated thereby, the government has greatly increased the capacity for inoculation.

Earlier, the continued spread of corona was reported in Pakistan. According to Baaghi TV reports, seven patients died from corona across the country with 4,340 corona cases confirmed across the country.

According to the NCOC, 49,809 corona tests were performed during the last 24-hours meanwhile, the corona positive case rate was reportedly 8.71%. The death toll from Corona has also risen to 29,019 across the country. In addition, the number of Coronavirus cases across the country has risen to 1.328 million. During the last 24-hours, 443 cases of Corona were reported in Islamabad. The rate of corona-positive cases in Islamabad has reached 10.75%. 

Covid-19 and its variants are continuing to spread around the world. In 24-hours, more than 1.939 million cases were reported worldwide with more than 3,900 deaths. Moreover, over 287,000 cases have been reported in the United States in just 24-hours. More than 257,000 cases of Covid-19 were reported in India. Meanwhile, the UK reported over 70,000 cases. 

In the last 24-hours, more than 278,000 cases have been reported in France. Over 54,000 cases have been reported in Turkey and 29,000 in Russia. In addition, over 149,000 cases have been reported in Italy.
