The police investigation wing has also sent a request to the immigration authorities to add the name of the alleged killer on the Provincial National Identification List (PNIL).

The counsel for the complainant, Shah Khawar, said that tactics were being used to force the victim’s family to settle out of court. He said that the police did not apply Section 311 of the PPC considering the nature of the murder. With this move, it is believed that it will not be settled out of court.

The victim’s father, Shaukat Ali Muqaddam, however, told reporters that no one had approached him for an out-of-court settlement, but clarified that he would not accept any such attempt. Police have not been able to retrieve the victim’s mobile phone.
