Pakistan’s second COVID-19 spike data is of concern, PM Khan
Islamabad: In the wake of the growing number of Coronavirus cases and simultaneous rise in death toll, Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed concern.
Taking to social networking website Twitter, the Prime Minister stated that the spike in data since the second wave started is alarming. He tweeted, “Pakistan’s second COVID 19 spike data is of concern”.

He went to to add that there has been an increase in the last 15 days, in number of patients on ventilators, across the state. PM Khan added, “Peshawar 200%, Multan 200%, Karachi 148%, Lahore 114%, Islamabad 65%. Multan & Isb Covid ventilators capacity utilisation 70%”.

that the global community is struggling to contain the second wave of the virus with “complete lockdown in most countries” yet in Pakistan, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is continuing to organize rallies.
PM Khan stated, “[PDM] is deliberately endangering the lives and livelihoods bec if cases continue to rise at the rate we are seeing, we will be compelled to go into complete lockdown & PDM will be responsible for consequences”.
The Prime Minister continued to say that the opposition is “callously” destroying the lives of the Pakistani people in their hopes of “getting an NRO”.

PM Khan stressed that the PDM can hold any number of rallies across the country but the government will not give in to their demands for an NRO.

The second wave of corona virus has started in Pakistan and SOPs will have to be strictly followed to deal with it. According to the NCOC, the corona epidemic is spreading rapidly in 15 cities across the country. Eighty percent of corona cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.
Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants.
It is to be noted that another 59 people lost their lives from Corona virus. So far, the total number of deaths has reached 7,662 meanwhile 2,665 new patients also emerged.
