YES. Both the US and Israel can use nuclear weapons in the ongoing war on Iran.
The US President, Donald Trump, has sole authority to order the use of nuclear weapons, with virtually no legal checks in practice.

Israel, which is widely believed to possess between 90 and 400 undeclared nuclear warheads, follows a policy of nuclear ambiguity. Its leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, also hold near-unchecked power to authorize nuclear strikes.
Experts and officials — including a Trump adviser — have openly discussed the possibility of Israel using nuclear weapons if the war escalates severely, under doctrines such as the “Samson Option” (a last-resort measure in the face of existential threats).
However, neither side has directly threatened the use of nuclear weapons so far.
The war remains conventional, focused on airstrikes, missiles, and the degradation of Iran’s capabilities, though Iran has mounted limited but effective counter-responses. These counter-responses have surprised the adversaries in terms of their accuracy and sustainability, with no significant degradation in capability.

US and Israeli leaders have repeatedly emphasized preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Yet Israel itself can carry out actions that many describe as genocide and the starvation of millions in Gaza while still possessing nuclear weapons.
Nuclear use would be highly escalatory, risky, and politically as well as diplomatically catastrophic.
While technically possible, it is generally considered extremely unlikely unless the conflict reaches an existential level for Israel or poses a major direct threat to the US homeland.
That is the conventional opinion.

However, my second thought is that sanity may not prevail. The war is already proving to be an embarrassment and has reached a faltering point where the US and Israel appear frustrated. Their leaders seem baffled, and the war games have spiraled out of their control — a fact clearly evident from their daily statements. If we were to believe what they say, the war should have ended by day six at the latest.

The current focus is on conventional pressure and negotiations, but do not be deceived. Historically, deception has often been a war tactic employed by the cowards.

A nuclear strike would deliver a fatal blow to world peace and prosperity. Uncontrollable destruction would follow, triggering a deep global economic depression and widespread economic collapse — especially since Iran may have already developed nuclear weapons using its stockpile of more than 400 kg of highly enriched uranium.
This serves as a stark warning to world leaders to urgently restrain the reckless leaders who are even considering the use of the nuclear option under doctrines such as the Samson Option.
