Trump’s Landmark China Visit Concludes as President Boards Air Force One for Return to Washington

President Donald Trump wrapped up a high-stakes two-day state visit to China on Friday, boarding Air Force One at Beijing Capital International Airport to head back to the United States after intensive talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The summit focused heavily on trade tensions, technology cooperation, Taiwan, and regional security issues. Trump described the meetings as “highly productive,” noting important Chinese commitments on large-scale purchases of American Boeing aircraft, energy exports, and agricultural products.
Accompanied by a powerful delegation of U.S. business leaders, Trump held bilateral discussions and attended a formal state banquet at the Great Hall of the People. He also took part in a symbolic cultural visit to the Temple of Heaven.
White House officials said the trip achieved progress in managing strategic competition between the two nations, even as differences remain on tariffs, artificial intelligence, and security matters in the Indo-Pacific.
As Air Force One taxied down the runway past Chinese honor guards, the visit, Trump’s first to Beijing in years, ended with both sides signaling a desire to stabilize relations between the world’s two largest economies.
Trump is expected to address reporters upon his arrival back in Washington.
