Baaghi TV: The Punjab Chief Minister had also appeared before the NAB a few days back. On the last appearance before the NAB, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was given a one-hour and 40-minute civil reply and was given a questionnaire.
A three-member NAB joint investigation team questioned the Chief Minister. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was asked about CM Policy 2009.
In this case, two senior government officials are ready to be pardoned witnesses in the liquor case against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. They include a Director General of the Excise Department.
Former Principal Secretary to the Punjab Chief Minister Raheel Siddiqui also appeared before the NAB. According to NAB documents, the law against alcohol is alleged to have paid a bribe of Rs 50 million to obtain a license.
The private hotel applied to the Excise Department for an L-2 category license for the sale of liquor.
The private hotel did not obtain a 4-5 star rating license from the Punjab Tourist Department under the Pakistan Hotels Act 1976. According to sources, a policy was issued by the CM’s office in 2009 regarding the licenses of 4 and 5 star hotels, which was violated.
Under the CM policy, only those hotels which have 4 or 5 star category can be issued license. Excise and Taxation Department issued license to private hotel in violation of CM policy 2009. The private hotel did not even have a Punjab Department tourist license at the time.
The Excise Department referred the case to the CM’s office three times and informed it of the delicacy of the matter. However, the CM’s office failed to stop the excise department from licensing a private hotel.
According to the NAB, complaints were received against Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and others that the Punjab Chief Minister had used his influence to issue liquor licenses to a private hotel for financial gain to his close relative, which is against the law.
Prior to the appearance of the Punjab Chief Minister, security has been tightened outside the NAB office and unauthorized persons are not being allowed inside.
A few days ago, there was a commotion on the occasion of Maryam Nawaz’s NAB appearance, so today the security of the NAB office has been tightened.
