SUWON (Forbes) — August 06, 2026: Samsung has disclosed details of the latest Android security fixes before Google published the full list of vulnerabilities addressed in its August 2026 Android Security Bulletin. According to Samsung’s monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR), the latest update includes patches for 38 Android Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) supplied by Google, alongside additional Samsung-specific security fixes.
Google released its August Android Security Bulletin on August 3, confirming that security updates were available for supported Android devices. However, unlike previous monthly bulletins, the initial publication did not include the detailed CVE list or technical descriptions of the vulnerabilities addressed.

Samsung’s accompanying security bulletin filled many of those gaps, stating that the update includes eight critical and 30 high-severity Android vulnerabilities identified by Google. The company also reported fixes for multiple Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs) affecting Galaxy devices.
Among the Android vulnerabilities identified in the update are issues involving memory corruption, improper input validation and other flaws that could potentially affect system stability or security if exploited. While detailed technical information for several CVEs has not yet been publicly released, vendors typically delay publishing complete exploit information until users have had time to install security patches.
Samsung noted that some security issues remain undisclosed for security reasons until updates have been widely deployed across supported devices. The company also acknowledged independent security researchers who reported several vulnerabilities through responsible disclosure programmes.

Google advises Android users to keep their devices updated through regular over-the-air software updates. Likewise, Samsung recommends installing the latest firmware as soon as it becomes available for eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets to benefit from the newest security protections.
In its Android Security Bulletin, Google stated: “This Android Security Bulletin contains details of security vulnerabilities that affect Android devices.”
Samsung also emphasized the importance of timely updates, noting in its security documentation: “Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of the monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process.”
Cybersecurity analysts continue to encourage users to enable automatic updates where available and promptly install monthly security patches, as these updates are designed to protect devices against newly discovered vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by malicious actors.
