Dubai (10th Mar, 2020): The Saudi Embassy based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reportedly ordered the citizens to return within three days. 

According to reports of the Saudi Gazette, the Embassy in UAE has stated in a statement on Tuesday that Saudi citizens who “wish” to return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may do so in a period of 3 days, approximately 72 hours, and can return either by air or land.

However, they can reportedly travel from the Dubai International Airport by means of the Saudi Arabian Airlines as advised by the Embassy in UAE. They can also use the Al-Batha land-border crossing to enter the limitations of Saudi Arabia near to the Al-Ghweifat border, UAE. Moreover, the Saudi citizens have been advised to contact the Embassy in case of any assistance.

According to reports, the Saudi Embassy has announced that flights between KSA and Egypt have also been resumed for the following:

  • Saudi Arabian Airlines
  • EgyptAir
  • Flynas
  • Others

The flights have reportedly been resumed for two days only, that is, 10th and 11th of March, to enable Saudi citizens to return to KSA.

Moreover, the embassy has further stated that KSA citizens may also be able to communicate with the airlines in order to arrange their flight during the two days as specified. It is being reported that they will not be charged any additional fees for their travel tickets pertaining to their return to Saudi Arabia, respectively.

It is to be noted, that the Saudi government had implemented reforms to contain the spread of Coronavirus, identified as COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2, within the limitations of the Saudi kingdom. Furthermore, the government has confirmed five new cases bringing the total number of Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia to almost twenty.

Although, the Saudi government had initially suspended entry for all travelers coming from a number of countries already affected by the novel virus, they have reportedly resumed entry for two days between 10th and 11th of March, respectively.
