Shortage of funds leads to the death of white tiger cubs

Lahore, 4th February: Two white tiger babies died at the Lahore zoo.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, two rare white tiger cubs died at the Lahore Zoo on Wednesday night.

As per reports, the cubs contracted a viral infection due to change in weather which resulted in their death.

Aa white African tigress gave birth to three cubs three months back. One of the cubs died on the spot due to weakness, while two others were kept under special care.

The zoo’s veterinary informed that the cubs were vaccinated and special care was given to their diet.
However, at the age of three months, the remaining two white lion cubs lost their lives due to viral infection.
Meanwhile, a member of the zoo staff has revealed because of a shortage of funds, the caretakers couldn’t take care of the cubs properly.

Now the total number of white African lions at the Lahore Zoo stands at eight, after the death of these two cubs.

According to the WWF, only 3,200 white tigers are left on earth and none of them exists in the wild. White tigers have white fur because of the lack of pigment pheomelanin, which is a genetic anomaly in them.
