Lahore: The first round of talks with banned Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi has failed and now the TLP Shoora has announced that the march will only stop when their chief will come on stage and announce, otherwise our destination is Islamabad.

According to the reports of Baaghi TV, the banned TLP long march has reached Muridke and will stay here for the night. The TLP workers will rest here tonight and will leave tomorrow morning after the Fajr prayer towards its destination (Faizabad) Islamabad. The Shoora has asked the devotees of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to come to the aid of their Muslim brethren with warm beds, food, etc. and help the Mujahideen of Islam.

Earlier in the day, clashes between police and religious party workers continued for several hours at the Grand Trunk (GT) Road, Rana Town. As a result to which the protesters repulsed the police officials.

Rana Town, GT Road has been showing a battlefield scene all day today. In order to stop banned organisation, the police and government administration had placed a container on GT Road at Rana Town and blocked the highway.

A heavy contingent of Rangers was also deployed on the spot. On continuing progress by the protesters, police started firing tear gas and shelling on demonstrators, while protesters responded to the police by pelting stones on them. The banned organisation’s activists attacked the police at Kala Shah Kaku after which the police was forced to retreat and the troops started running backwards.

The protesters attacked their police officers from stones, sticks and anything that came in their hands. After which several personnel were seriously injured and helplessly waiting for medical help. Protesters also destroyed dozens of police vehicles. After the complete retreat of the police and Rangers personnel, the protesters removed all the obstacles in their way and resumed their march towards Islamabad.

Proscribed TLP’s chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi, son of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, was arrested on April 12, 2021 from Scheme Mor Chowk, Lahore. Police arrested Hafiz Saad Rizvi to stop the protest of April 16, 2021 after their talks failed with the government and the government refused to deport the French ambassador from the country.

After the arrest of Saad Rizvi, there was an uproar across the country and the government banned organisation. The party has filed an appeal against the ban, which will be decided by the government. Hafiz Saad is still in jail and his party is banned.
