CM Punjab may miss Aug 14 event after wife contracts COVID-19

Lahore, 13th August: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will miss the event of August 14 after his wife contracted the coronavirus, a day after the CM tested negative for the infection.

According to sources in the health department, the chief minister’s wife tested positive for COVID-19, a day after the CM himself tested negative for the infection, following a positive report last week.

As per reports, it is now likely that Usman Buzdar would not be able to attend the main event of 14th August to be held in Punjab.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has confirmed the news saying that Pujab CM’s wife has mild symptoms and had been quarantined at her home.

Dr. Yasmin said, “Punjab chief minister and his staff members went through tests for COVID-19 and have tested negative for the infection.”

It may be recalled on Wednesday last week, the chief minister Punjab tested negative for COVID-19, just hours after it was reported that Chief Secretary Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik whom he had traveled with to Bahawalpur, contracted the virus.

After the Chief  Secretary was diagnosed with COVID-19, Usman Buzdar underwent a coronavirus test.
