According to the report of Baaghi TV, a case was heard in the Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding the report of ATR plane crashes.
The Director Civil Aviation, DGPIA Engineering and other officials appeared before the court. The court sought answers from civil aviation and other authorities.
The court asked, “Did PIA impose responsibility on anyone after its report?” Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that if it was not for the court order, the report would never have come. It took 4 years for the report to come to court, he added.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said, “Tell me, what did you learn from these accidents? 42 people died but, what did you learn?” He added that the court had ordered the appearance of involved parties following report but, no one came.
Officials told the court that the PIA was improving civil aviation safety measures. The court remarked, “Who was responsible for the previous accident? Even then safety measures were being taken. People will stop traveling if you continue to do this.”
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked the concerned authorities whether the ships are also checked. How many ATR ships does PAI have? The court was told that PIA has 6 ATRs. The court asked, who is responsible for flying a bad plane? Does this case relate to future learning? What does civil aviation do when it comes to technical glitches?
Civil aviation officials told the court they would present the report at the next hearing. The court remarked, “What are you doing to eliminate the possibility of further errors?”
