CTD arrests 8 terrorists in different regions of Punjab
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested eight terrorists during various operations in Punjab.
According to the CTD spokesman, four terrorists belonging to the banned outfit were arrested during the operation in Lahore while explosives, weapons and other items were recovered from the terrorists.
The CTD staff carried out an operation based on information regarding the presence of terrorists at a site in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. They added: “The defendants have been moved to an undisclosed location for questioning.”

Apart from this, the CTD and the Intelligence Bureau conducted a joint operation in Sheikhupura, the district of Punjab and arrested two terrorists. Those arrested were involved in terrorist activities in the district.
In addition, two activists from an outlaw group were arrested in two separate raids on their hideout in the provinces of Gujranwala and Hafizabad. The Police has also said that the men arrested donated to finance terrorist activities in the counties they were found in.

The spokesman also said that the terrorists arrested from the different regions belonged to the banned organization. The groups included the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Hafizabad and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) from Gujranwala and Sheikhupura.
