Ducky Bhai urges Parents to Monitor Children’s Online Activity

LAHORE (Express Tribune) — August 12, 2026: Pakistani YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, has said parents should take greater responsibility for monitoring what their children watch online, arguing that content creators cannot be held solely responsible for children’s viewing habits.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the YouTuber responded to criticism from parents who blame online creators when children develop behaviour they consider inappropriate or undesirable.
Ducky Bhai said watching his content was voluntary and argued that parents should decide whether particular material is suitable for their children.

“When kids are getting ruined, where are their parents?” he said, adding that he believed his videos did not contain material that could negatively influence children.
He also recalled how his own father monitored his use of technology while he was growing up.
“I had a computer that used to be regularly monitored 24/7 in which my father had a parental control app,” Ducky Bhai said. He added that his father could monitor searches and activity involving inappropriate or adult content.
The YouTuber questioned why other parents could not use similar measures to supervise their children’s online activity.

Ducky Bhai further argued that online creators should not be treated as substitutes for parents or educational institutions.

“In short, YouTube is not a school,” he said, stressing that viewers could choose whether or not to watch his videos.
He said his content was not compulsory and that parents retained the ability to restrict or monitor children’s access to particular platforms and videos.
His comments come amid broader discussions in Pakistan and elsewhere about children’s exposure to social media, parental controls and the responsibilities of digital platforms and content creators.
Ducky Bhai’s YouTube channel has developed a substantial audience over the years, with third-party channel analytics recording more than 10 million subscribers in 2026.
Reflects on time in jail
During the podcast, Ducky Bhai also discussed his experience of spending around three months in custody in connection with allegations related to an online gambling application.
He described the period as difficult, particularly because of isolation and limited opportunities for recreation.

“I was in such an isolated place where there was no room to even walk. Just imagine, three months there itself was torture,” he said while describing his experience.
He also said the experience changed some of his daily habits.
“For the first time in my life I read newspapers,” he said.
Ducky Bhai previously spoke publicly about his arrest and subsequent legal proceedings after his release, saying at the time that he intended to cooperate with the legal process.

The YouTuber also discussed how being away from social media made it difficult for him to determine who had supported or criticised him during his incarceration.
“I never saw who took my side and who did not,” he said, explaining that social media feeds primarily show recent material rather than older posts.

Ducky Bhai also referred to controversies involving fellow content creator Rajab Butt and said disputes involving public figures should, where possible, be addressed privately before they escalate.
“If I was him, I would involve the elders that same day the news broke and figure it out privately before matters escalate,” he said.
His remarks during the podcast covered parental supervision, children’s online habits, the responsibilities of content creators, his experience in custody and the impact of public controversies on families.
