Fake License Scandal: PIA, CAA submit papers in SCP

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have submitted papers in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) regarding the dubious flying license case.

According to the details of Baaghi TV, the national airline and the regulatory authority have submitted papers in the Apex court regarding the dubious license case.

However, the Honorable Chief Justice of SCP, Justice Gulzar Ahmed will set the date for hearing of the case. It is pertinent to mention here that the SCP, on July 21, 2020, directed the CAA to immediately complete an inquiry against pilots of PIA who possess fake licences.

While addressing Pakistan’s National Assembly, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the country has 860 active pilots serving its domestic airlines, as well as some foreign carriers, and that 262 have fake licences and are not qualified to fly.

The government has decided to take strict action against all pilots who have been flying commercial jets without a licence.
