Gas reserves discovered in Balochistan

Gas reserves have been discovered in the Kohlu region, a district of Balochistan, sources have reported. 

According to the sources of Baaghi TV, the spokesperson of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) stated:

“The reserves have been discovered from Jindran, which will release 2.4 Million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) gas per day.”

The spokesman also informed that the reserves have been discovered at a depth of 1627 meters.

On the other hand, the Sui Northern Gas Company’s system of natural gas is constantly declining due to which the crisis and shortage is becoming commonplace, the government has to rely on imported resources to overcome the crisis and shortage.

Meanwhile, the government has started preparations to impose additional burden on domestic consumers, under which a new tariff will be introduced by combining natural gas and LNG, after which the bills of domestic consumers will increase by thousands of rupees per month.

Citizens say that the government has already shifted power, CNG and other sectors to LNG. On the other hand, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the people will face problems in winter.

Governor Sindh is reported to have said:

“These reserves in Pakistan are declining, people will face hardships in winter, it is a temporary problem because gas shipments are coming so there will not be much problem. Efforts are being made. Relief policy should be formulated to provide relief to the poor from inflation. Due to Sindh government, health cards were not available to the citizens of the province. Targeted subsidy cards would also be distributed in Sindh.”
