The hospital drama, how it unfolded, got everyone swept off their feet.
The whole operation could have been dealt with by absolute caution and sagacity.
Imran’s condition is not that of a hypertensive or someone with a severe eye infection. All medical problems can be tackled in a mature and wise manner.

If I were at the helm of affairs, I would have allowed him to be in a hospital for at least 6 or 7 days. This would have allowed the man to reenergize, recuperate, and reinvigorate. The temperature otherwise would have been lowered to a great degree. There should be at least some semblance of reasonability in dealing with a former premier of a country who has remained a national hero.
The most disturbing fact is that a person who built one of the biggest hospitals across Pakistan is being denied access to hospitals. This is rather questionable.
Where is the damn empathy or compassion around which our whole system revolves? Our religion too emphasizes the need to be thinking this way.

Whatever the political dimension, no prisoner should be made miserable to languish or rot in jails. No matter what the gravity of the crime is, in the case of political prisoners, no offender is believed to be a killer or a mercenary, so why such harsh treatment?
The authorities can be more sympathetic by being lenient to the incarcerated leader and his followers.
This way, the authorities would have won the blessings of the opposing block, who, it is believed, are coalescing to push their point through. Had this movement been handled a little more wisely and cautiously, the team of IK and other coalescing forces could be a part of the government’s ensuing grand design.
A Charter of Democracy, however imperfect it may be, is the need of the hour. Internationally, our country is believed to be doing well under the dynamic chairmanship of our Field Marshal.
