ISLAMABAD — March 30, 2026: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially resumed its direct flight operations to London after a six-year hiatus, marking a significant development for Pakistan’s aviation sector and overseas travel links.
The inaugural flight PK-785 departed from Islamabad International Airport carrying 325 passengers, symbolizing the restoration of one of the airline’s most historic international routes. Aviation officials, diplomats, and senior representatives attended a modest ceremony held prior to departure.

Defence Secretary Lt Gen Muhammad Ali (Retd) stated that the resumption of flights would “further strengthen relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom and enhance people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.”
