LOS ANGELES (Variety) — August 06, 2026: Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has become the highest-grossing movie of 2026 after earning more than $1.15 billion worldwide in just seven days, overtaking Disney-Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” at the global box office. The latest Spider-Man installment, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, continues to dominate cinemas across international markets while setting several new industry records.
According to industry box office figures, the film has generated approximately $449 million in North America and more than $706 million internationally, making it the fastest film of the year to cross the billion-dollar milestone. Only Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame” reached the mark more quickly, achieving it in three days during its 2019 release.
