TLP Long March: Saad Rizvi will address the masses

The first round of talks with Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) chief, Hafiz Saad Rizvi have failed and now there are reports that the party supporters have announced that they will only stop if Saad Rizvi addresses the people, or they will march to Islamabad.

There are also reports that TLP’s Namoos-e-Risalat March has reached Muridke. They are expected to stay there for the night and rest, and tomorrow morning, after the Fajr prayers, the caravan will move towards its destination (Faizabad) Islamabad.

It has been announced that we have stopped at Muridke and will wait for Amir Mohtaram [Hafiz Saad Rizvi]. They said:

“If he comes, we will give the next course of action to Amir Mohtaram, otherwise we will leave Islamabad in the morning.”

The Central Council has asked Saduki, Kamunki Gujranwala to go ahead and play a role in providing food and water and necessary supplies to the movement brothers and host them.

Sources have also claimed that a team of lawyers is present in Ferozwala police station and an application has been submitted for registration of FIR in the murder of Owais Shaheed.

Before this, today, at the location of Grand Trunk (GT) Road Rana Town, TLP supporters continued to collide with the police, while some of the protesters spoke to the police. GT Road Rana Town continued to present the scene of the battlefield all day today. In order to stop the advance of the religious party, the administration had placed a container on GT Road Rana Town and blocked the highway at Rana Town.

Rangers were also posted on the occasion. On continuing progress by the police, the police attacked the protesters, while protesters responded to the police. The police were mostly attacked in Kala Shah Kaku. After the attack from both sides, the police were forced to retreat and the troops started running backwards.

The demonstrators targeted their mounted personnel and rocks, sticks and things that happened in their hands, many personnel were severely injured and the protesters were waiting for medical aid, and managed to destroy dozens of police vehicles.

After the complete retreat of the police and Rangers personnel, the protesters removed all the obstacles in their way and resumed their march towards Islamabad.
