The award ceremony was held at the Government College of Technology, Taxila, where shields and certificates of appreciation were presented to entomologists, health inspectors, dengue supervisors, sanitary patrol staff, and lady health workers. Assistant Commissioner Taxila Maria Javed attended the event as chief guest, while Dr Jawad Zahid, District Health Officer (Preventive Services), presided over the proceedings.

Speaking at the ceremony, Principal of the Government College of Technology Engineer Naveed Haider Buzdar praised the awardees for their consistent fieldwork, coordination, and vigilance, describing their efforts as a strong example of effective public health operations.

Deputy District Health Officer Dr Shehzad Rasool highlighted the role of anti-dengue teams in rural and under-served areas, stating that their dedication has helped protect vulnerable communities from mosquito-borne diseases.

Dr Jawad Zahid said the performance of the health staff during the dengue season reflected discipline and resilience in dealing with public health challenges. He added that recognising such efforts not only acknowledges past performance but also encourages sustained commitment in future disease control campaigns.

Assistant Commissioner Maria Javed said honouring frontline workers plays an important role in strengthening district-level preparedness against vector-borne diseases. She particularly commended sanitary patrol teams for their continuous service in high-risk localities of Taxila and Wah.

Officials noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s appreciation of frontline health workers and reinforces the importance of coordinated efforts in safeguarding community health.
