Aug 31, 2021: At least 11 Daesh terrorists were killed in an intelligence-led operation (IBO) at a group camp in Balochistan’s Mastung District on Monday.

The CTD spokesman said the IBO was conducted by the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Qilli Qamar Mazarabad area.

The IBO  was carried out on the tip off information from Daesh operative Abdul Haye. The spokesman added that the CTD team reached the spot and surrounded the terrorists. The militants indiscriminately opened fire on the personnel and hurled grenades at them. The CTD team returned fire, killing 11 terrorists.

According to the spokesman, a large cache of weapons and explosives was recovered from the terrorists during the IBO, including four SMGs with 360 rounds, one LMG 80 rounds, two suicide jackets, three 9mm pistols, 15 kg explosives, prime cord, eight grenades and eight detonators.

Efforts are underway to identify the remaining terrorists targeted in the IBO, the spokesperson from CTD added.

According to the spokesman, the camp was to be used as a launching pad for Daesh in the near future. He added that Abdul Haye was the ringleader of the group involved in the May 2021 Mastung police mobile attack.

The spokesman added that a detailed investigation led to the discovery of the camp and the subsequent IBO.

An FIR has been registered at the CTD Balochistan police station and an investigation has been launched to arrest the remaining members of the network, the spokesperson concluded.
