KARACHI (Express Tribune) — August 07, 2026: The father of Wafflix owner Mir Raza Ali has raised questions over the investigation into his son’s death, while police maintain that the case is being investigated and that further developments will follow the findings of a medical board.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Mir Hussain Ali expressed dissatisfaction with the direction of the investigation and alleged that attention was being diverted toward issues unrelated to his son’s death.

Family Questions Investigation
Mir Hussain Ali alleged that the past 10 days had seen attempts to distort facts and damage the reputation of his son and family instead of focusing on identifying those responsible.
“Why is no investigation being conducted into my son’s murder? Who is being protected?” he questioned.
The family has also rejected suggestions that business or financial difficulties may have contributed to Mir Raza’s death. His father questioned whether such pressures could explain the incident and called for investigators to examine all possible circumstances surrounding the case.
He also raised concerns about the post-mortem process and alleged discrepancies in the medical report. These claims have not been independently established and remain part of the family’s account.
Police Defend ongoing Probe
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said investigators had made progress in the case and that the next course of action would depend on medical findings.

Speaking to reporters at City Courts, Odho said police would soon present “all facts” relating to the case.
The police position comes after investigators previously said they were examining several possible motives rather than reaching a final conclusion about why Ali was killed.
What is known about the Case?
Earlier reports said Mir Raza Ali, a Karachi businessman and Wafflix owner, went missing from the city’s PECHS area after leaving home. His family subsequently approached police, and an abduction case was registered.
His body was later recovered from Gulistan-e-Jauhar, after which the case was treated as a suspected murder investigation. Police said the investigation was examining different possible motives and that it was too early to establish a definitive motive.

The case has also generated public concern in Karachi, with calls for authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding Ali’s death and identify those responsible. Public discussions and calls for answers have circulated online, although social-media claims should not be treated as verified evidence.
Investigation awaits further Findings
With the family challenging aspects of the investigation and police maintaining that the probe is continuing, the case remains unresolved.
The medical board’s findings are expected to play a role in determining the next steps, while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Ali’s disappearance and death.
Authorities have yet to publicly establish a final motive or identify those responsible for the killing.
