LAHORE (ProPakistani) — April 13, 2026: Pakistan’s disaster management authorities have issued a nationwide weather advisory warning of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds expected to affect large parts of the country in the coming days, prompting officials to urge citizens to remain cautious.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), intermittent rainfall is forecast across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as an active weather system moves into northern and central regions.
The advisory stated that the system may bring “thunderstorms, dust storms and gusty winds,” with isolated areas also likely to experience hailstorms.

Rainfall is expected in several major cities including Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore, Mianwali and Mandi Bahauddin.
Mountainous regions are forecast to receive mixed precipitation, with higher elevations in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir likely to witness snowfall alongside rainfall in valleys.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur are expected to experience thunderstorms, while plains districts including Swabi, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan may face strong winds accompanied by rain.
Meanwhile, Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain largely hot and dry. Coastal conditions in Karachi are projected to stay warm, though sea breezes and humidity may prevent extreme heatwave conditions.
