Rahul Gandhi Safe After Convoy Vehicles Collide With Ambulance on UP Expressway

India: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi escaped unhurt after five support vehicles in his convoy collided on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh today, party sources and police officials confirmed.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred near the Haliyapur area, roughly 100 kilometers from Lucknow, when a string of trailing cars crashed into an ambulance. While several party workers and security personnel sustained minor injuries, officials confirmed that Gandhi’s primary vehicle was not involved in the impact and he was declared safe.
Gandhi was en route from Lucknow to a special MP-MLA court in Sultanpur to attend a hearing regarding a 2018 defamation case. Despite the disruption, the Congress MP continued his journey to the court following the incident. Police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the pile-up.
